30/08/1890 .. Yeomanry Shooting – At the Binstead range, on Tuesday in very unfavourable weather, the eleventh monthly shooting competition for the local troop of Hants Carabiniers took place. The highest scores were:- Trooper FLUX, 85; Sergt. RATCLIFFE, 77; Sergt-Major BARBER, 71; and Trooper DUFFETT, 70. Sergt. RATCLIFFE won the spoon, Trooper FLUX, who has now won the challenge cup given by the Shooting Club, having already carried off his quota. (County Press)
